On November 6, after the release of Gary's farewell episode in "Running Man", the staff and cast members threw a farewell dinner party for their fellow cast member.
According to his interview with OSEN, the show's producing director Jung Cheol Min said, "Gary tried not to cry in front of everyone. He even said he would read the letters that were written to him by himself so he could cry in private."
Song Ji Hyo was also mentioned in the interview wiht the director saying that while the actress teared up on the episode, she did cry a lot in the farewell dinner. "Song Ji Hyo was upset that Gary was leaving ever since she heard the news, and the other members were sad, as well."
He also complimented the remaining members of the "Running Man" and when Gary had joked what would happen if he likes to return, the director only had this to say:
"If you want to, talk to me anytime."
