On Nov 17, 2016, World Council of Churches (WCC) holds its executive committee meeting in Shanghai. More than twenty members of the committee attend it.

Listed as one of three international Christian organizations, WCC has 345 Protestant and Orthodox member churches covering 110 countries and regions. The executive committee holds two meetings every year, one conducted at the headquarter of WCC and the other held in one of the member churches.

This has been the first time for CCC & TSPM to host the meeting.

Before the meeting, the members hold morning devotions in the devotional room of CCC &TSPM. As one of the members, Rev. Baoping Kan, associate chairman and general secretary of CCC, delivers the sermon named "Go and Do Likewise".

Then the members meet the leaders of CCC & TSPM. Elder Fu Xianwei, president of TSPM, introduces the history of Chinese churches, the functions of CCC & TSPM and its ministries including social service. Meanwhile, he shares how the church in China has formed the effective way to preach the Gospel in the Post-denominational Age and the church has been promoting theological reconstruction and insisting on sinicization of Christianity.

Rev. Gao Feng, chairman of CCC, states that the meeting held in China for the first time is encouragement and support to the church in China.

In the meeting, the both sides communicate on the issues of the relations between religions, social responsibility of the church, whether Christians pay attention to the environmental protection and the religious policy. Dr. Agnes Abuom, the moderator of the WCC Central Committee, expresses gratitude for the invitation and the reception from CCC & TSPM on behalf of the executive committee. She also looks forward to the following meetings and agenda.
