On April 18, 2017, a five-person delegation from the Methodist Church in Singapore, including Bishop Dr. Chong Chin Chung, visited Shanghai CCC&TSPM.

Rev. Shen Xuebin, the chairman of Shanghai TSPM, welcomed the delegation and said that both sides have developed a deep friendship since the church in Singapore has been an old friend of the church in Shanghai. He looks forward to further mutual communication and cooperation in the future between the two churches.

The bishop was impressed with a given introduction of the international church services held in Shanghai, where there are many Singaporean nationals. He shared the development patterns of religions in Singapore with the Chinese side, mentioning that the country, with lots of nationalities and religions, encouraged the interreligious dialogue between religion leaders to eliminate suspicions for mutual communication and respect.

The two sides also spoke about some of the recent financial scandals which occurred in some Asian churches, regarding them as a reminder for strengthening church management, especially financial management that requires standardization, openness and transparency.
