The Lord's Prayer is a true petition of the heart or can become a divine force releasing the glorious blessing of God. A person may pray, "Thy kingdom come" without any regard for Jesus' intent or say the words "Thy Kingdom come" and see the world as it begins to change.

Pray like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come.." (Matthew 6:9-10).

Praying the Lord's prayer is like chasing an armadillo. We believe that God wants us to pray. But, do we understand what we pray? What shall we do when God answers our prayer?

Here are the biblical truths about God's kingdom as revealed in the Holy Scripture:

God's kingdom is divine

Kingdom is a word taken from "basileia" which means "the reign of the king." It means all the territory of His realm. It is great to take note that God's kingdom did not start with Jesus' appearance but His kingdom has always been there. God has always been on the Holy throne. Psalms 103.19 says,"The Lord has established his throne in the heavens and his kingdom rules over all."

God's kingdom is messianic

God's kingdom was revealed to man through the appearance of Jesus Christ. It was disclosed to men when Jesus came teaching and healing and casted out demons, He said, "But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you"(Matthew 12:28).

God's kingdom is revolutionary

"Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you"(Luke 17:21, NIV).

God's kingdom comes from the inside out. Jesus said that the true kingdom of God is within us.
