Humans are never perfect. We will never be perfectly win over sin (1 John : 1:8) but we are blessed with the Bible, as it presents us with several aids in order for us to overcome sins. With God's help and by following the principle of God's words, humans can overcome sin and become more like Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit is the first resource the Bible taught us in order to overcome sins. God provides us with His Holy Spirit so that we can win in our Christian living. In Galatians 5:16-25, God contradicts the deeds of the flesh with Holy Spirit's fruits. In the Bible, we, as believers, are called upon to walk with Holy Spirit and yield in God's control. This means following what is divine and not the hungers of the flesh.
How can a person be filled with Holy Spirit?
We need to be filled with Holy Spirit and follow what God's will and command is. Sins grieves and throw away the Holy Spirit and obedience to God is how the filling the Holy Spirit is maintained. Holy Spirit gives freedom to work within our actions and thoughts.
According to the Bible, God has provided us with His words to equip us for our every actions and work. The words of God also teaches us what to believe and live; to help us get back to the right path after choosing the wrong way.
In Hebrews 4:12,it tells us that God's Words is powerful and living, it can penetrate to our hearts and overcome the deepest sins of persons.
Sometimes, victory over sin can become so quickly. Other times, victory comes very slowly. God promised that He will bring us out from the sins and change our lives into better. He is a faithful God and He already let us experience overcoming our sins when He sacrificed His own son, Jesus Christ for us.
