It is now very common for a famous Chinese TV drama series to be distributed overseas, however not all of them got positive responses and support from the foreign audience.

But things have been drastically changing after the Chinese costume spy drama titled "Princess Agents" was released on Youtube.

Since it was aired last summer with English subtitles, the Chinese drama series has been viewed more than 230 million times on the famous video streaming site.

According to a report, many international fans stay up late at night in order to wait for the new episodes, which are about six hours after the release of the Chinese version on Hunan Satellite TV and Chinese video-sharing sites.

Currently, the series has reportedly received more than 30,000 online comments and reviews from international audiences. Moreover, there are about half million foreign netizens who shared the videos on different social media platform. It has been known that most of the viewers of the drama are aged 18-44 from Australia, Europe, Canada and United States.

For its popularity, "Princess Agents" is already considered as one of the hottest Chinese TV productions shown overseas today. It has reportedly surpassed the popularity of "Empresses in the Palace" which was released in Netflix in 2015.

IMDb rated the series 8.4 out of 10. The drama is based on the famous online novel 11 Chu Te Gong Huang Fei (11处特工皇妃) written by Xiao Xiang Dong Er. The settings of the story was during the Northern Wei Dynasty. It tells a story of a female slave, Chu Qiao who deleveloped and grown as a brave general and military strategist.
