On Aug 17, 2017, Deputy Division Chief Wei Yanjun and Section Chief Zhang Zhenyang from the State Administration for Religious Affairs arrived at Henan Bible Junior College along with leaders from the Henan Bureau of Religious Affairs to review the school's application on upgrading to a university.
They investigated the school's campus, cafeteria, library, reading room, teaching building, dormitory, chapel, and other facilities. Principal Tang Weimin and Vice principal Hu Junjie made reports on the school's philosophy, history and reform, faculty, curriculum design, specialties, vision, and more.
Yang Sanzhong, Director of the Henan Bureau of Religious Affairs, welcomed them and urged the school to take this as an opportunity to better continue the theology ministry of Henan Province. He also wished that the school could become a domestically famous theology school.
