The CCC&TSPM of Yiyang, Hunan, held its first professional skills training on Aug 15-17 in Taohualun Church. Over 60 people, including non-Christians, attended it.

Supported by the Amity Foundation and the Hunan Faith and Deed Foundation, the seminar covered China's nursing home policy, elderly care, psychological care for the elderly, diet for the elderly, and counseling for seniors.

Rev. Yi of the CCC&TSPM said that the training played a large part in the city. The training project launched by her on Tencent Charity, the donation site of the world's largest Internet company, claimed that the number of the city's zero-employment families with an average age ranging from 40 to 60 and job waiting families exceeded the 30% local population.

She hoped that the trainees could care for the elderly at the residents' homes and find jobs in senior care institutions after receiving the training.

A follow-up training will be conducted on Sep 18 - 20. The participants will be required to put this training content into practice before joining the second session.
