Famous South Korean boy group Bangtan boys - most popularly known as BTS -  revealed that their song titled "Mic Drop" from their new album, "Love Yourself: Her" was actually inspired by former United States President Barack Obama.

According to BTS' member Rap Monster, the song was inspired by Obama's speech at the 2016 White House Correspondent's Dinner.

It can be recalled that during the event and after Obama ended his speech, he dropped the mic and said, "Obama out" before making an epic exit.

Later on, the action of dropping a mic after a statement or speech is now known to be a symbol of one's confidence and "swag."

"We added our Billboard Music Awards speech as a skit track. The track after that is 'Mic Drop', and it was inspired by former president Obama's speech.

His mic drop was something that expressed,'Wasn't my speech dope? 'In that way, our song 'Mic Drop' is a track that expresses our swag, hopes, and confidence," Rap Monster shared.

BTS recently released their latest mini-album titled "Love Yourself: Her," with their title track song, "DNA."

Aside from hitting top Korean music charts, the album also hit number 1 on iTunes charts worldwide.

Moreover, "DNA"'s music video quickly broke the record held by Black Pink for the most views in the first 24 hours for a Korean pop group with 21 million views. The video is also placed as the 11th on the list of most viewed online videos in the first 24 hours of all-time on Youtube. As of writing, the video garnered 30,159,494 views on the famous social streaming site.
