On November 9, three groups of Chinese hip-hop singers - namely Guangzhou rapper Tizzy T, jazz-hip-hop singer Kafe Hu and hip-hop twins OB03 - will be headlining the first hip-hop show of Chinese indie label, Modern Sky, at the O2 Ritz Manchester.

The show, entitled 'MDSK Rush Party', will feature artists from the indie label as part of its promotional activity now that the company has set up its first UK office in Liverpool early this year.

Modern Sky's founder and CEO Shen Lihui setup a company, MDSK, in 2016 as his aid to support the local hip-hop talents in China. In September 2-3, 2017, the company organized a two-day hip-hop music festival in Chengdu to spread the music to the public.

The UK office is the second overseas project of Modern Sky as they have already opened an office in New York in 2006.

Modern Sky teamed up with Sound City founder David Pichilingi to expand their presence in the UK. Modern Sky UK has already signed on UK bands such as Fuss, Violet Youth, Catholic Action and English singer-songwriter Victorial Louise "Pixie" Lott.
