Three Keys to Flourish the Gospel

Recently I visited an urban church and learned that there were three keys to spread the gospel in that church.

1. Evangelistic fervor.

I saw some of the church's members distributing gospel tracts to pedestrians on a Sunday. I learned that the congregation loved to share the gospel.

Many of today's churches are content with their current situation, lacking a source of fuel to reach the lost. Some church leaders even claim that quality comes before evangelism. They forget that God wants all men to be saved rather than save a small group of people. Every Christian should have a sense of evangelistic mission because God gave the Great Commission to each follower.

2. Begin one-on-one evangelistic ministry.

Thanks to its evangelism before the Sunday service, many newcomers came to the church. Counselors who had been trained talked one-on-one with each seeker after the service. What was more, new children were also counseled by Sunday school teachers.

Provide a one on one encounter between a believer and a non-believer. However, a few churches use secular methods, following the trends of times or lowering the principles of the truth to attract people. They don't declare what the Bible says, God's will, and what the principles of truth are. This kind of church growth is just a commercial effect, not spiritual.

But this church kept people by teaching the gospel and that they needed a savior.

3. Pray together.

Before the church's service, I observed that a portion of believers knelt in prayer together. After the choral anthem, some Christians also prayed together. The church administrative board prayed at a fixed time.

People rarely attend prayer meetings in many churches, but a church will not develop without prayer. Prayer is like fuel, and the boat (church) fails to advance without it.

There is a simile that a church should become a trireme, not a passenger boat. Everyone advances in the same direction toward the same goal.
