The century-old church in Ji'an, Jiangxi, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its new church on December 9, 2017.

Founded in 1891 by a British missionary from the China Inland Mission, it regained the original name, "Gospel Church", in 2003.

With an increase in the number of Christians, the old church failed to hold them and needed to be relocated owing to the city's transformation.

The church received a three mu (0.49 acres) of land and a compensation of 370,000 yuan for a land requisition from the local government.

The budget for the new facility was three million yuan, but the church only had  220,000 yuan.

So it launched a special prayer for construction that lasted over two years. Moreover, the congregation prayed for funding before every service.

Thanks to God's providence, construction workers were paid on time. Many of its members gave donations and some even picked up waste for money. A brother volunteered to be the director of the construction.  Christians from Hong Kong and the church's former pastor and his family gave great financial support and provided all of its new pews free of charge.

The new construction was kicked off on March 2006 and completed over one year later. The new building was dedicated on July 7, 2007, with an area of 0.49 acres and a construction area of 1.1 acres.

Meanwhile, it has organized two volunteer teaching programs and aided poor schools and hospital.
