On December 19, 2017, a memorial service for Meng Li Si, a young Chinese preacher killed in Pakistan, was held in her hometown, Dalong Village of Ezhou, Hubei.
About one thousand Christians attended the service conducted at her house and presided over by a pastor from the local CCC, according to a WeChat account called "Horn of Grace and Faith". All her relatives joined in the congregation to give farewell to the 26-year-old girl. Her remains were buried on a hill near her home.
The remains of Li Xinheng, the other deceased missionary who went to Pakistan for preaching, were buried in a public cemetery in Hengyang of Hunan, his hometown.
Chinese Pastors claimed that they would lead congregations to pray and meditate at their gravesites at appropriate times and visit their parents.
Born in 1991, Meng had a Pakistani name, Musa. She studied in a Wenzhou academy that trains missionaries in 2016. That November, she and Li went to Zhenna Town of Quetta, the capital city of Baluchistan province in Pakistan, with eleven other young preachers, through a Korean mission society. They worked in a language training center opened by the society and studied Urdu to learn local customs for evangelization.
On May 24, 2017, three unidentified gunmen took them hostage, forcing them to get in a private car when they and another sister went out for lunch.
On June 8, 2017, Reuters reported that Islamic State murdered them.
