Singaporean Pastor Lawrence Khong Shares Gospel through Magic in Hangzhou

There are many methods of evangelism, including evangelistic meetings, praise and worship concerts, and plays... But it's really rare to share the gospel through magic shows.
The Singaporean pastor-magician Lawrence Khong staged a large magic show, "Christmas Magic" in Hangzhou, the last leg of his China tour this year, on December 15, 2017.
The senior pastor of Faith Community Baptist Church (FCBC) shepherds over ten thousand members. In 2000, Khong obeyed a calling from God to enter the entertainment world and founded Gateway Entertainment. He has reached non-Christians through magic performances worldwide ever since then.
Apart from a passion for evangelism, his charm on the stage and appeal are two tools to attract audiences.
The magic included appearing and disappearing of a live person, substitution, and levitation.
More than ten close shot tricks reflected the theme --- "faith, hope, and love". Three highlights of the show were:
#Highlight 1: a test of faith
Khong stood in a box of human height. His assistants put sharp-pointed spears through it then passed hard iron plates through the middle. Without faith, one must be terrified. Even the audience felt the scalp tingle.
#Hightlight 2: a hope of life
Where is the in the face of difficulties?
When Khong was locked and handcuffed in a sealed box, the audience fell suddenly silent. Being hopeful is not fearing or losing heart even if your back is to the wall.
Unexpectedly, he walked out from the screen after just a second!
#Highlight 3: Love never fails.
The pastor confessed that he experienced the love of his family and the heavenly love in 2017, which marked his 40th wedding anniversary.
The definition of a home is more than just a house, but a desirable place.
Khong and his daughter Priscilla performed the illusion "levitation", one of the most shocking scenes in the world of magic; he also cooperated with his grandson Issac for the trick "water into snow" In the end, he delivered a message of "spirit, soul, and body" with a lantern trick.
People need to meet their physical desires, but they never feel satisfied in them because they have souls and spirits. They seek inner atisfaction and true love, but many times hurt the ones they love the most. The reason is that they lack the fuel to love.
Everyone has a spirit at the deepest level of his heart and it leads them to know about the spiritual world.
Disconnected from the power supply, a bulb doesn't work. Likewise, people's lives can't be lit without light. Khong blessed the spectators to be illuminated by the light from above.
