Peace is not the really about the absence of chaos. Instead, it is keeping the faith, being at peace knowing that God is in control.

Every Christian should know these biblical facts about peace:

Jesus Gives Peace that remains

We always hear and read the Bible verse wherein Jesus said "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" in John 14:27. This means that the peace Jesus gives us helps us calms our fears, settles our heart despite the troubled situation. This peace remains unlike the peace in the world which is not permanent. When Jesus gives us something, He doesn't take it back.

He converts fear to peace

In John 20:19-20 it says, "On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, 'Peace be with you!' After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord."

We know that the disciples here were very troubled and anxious, thinking they would be the next target to be killed. But Jesus calmed them by saying "Peace be with you." His peace can convert fear to a peace and tranquility.

Peace with God

In Romans 5:1, it says "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." We have peace because Jesus took the burden and died in behalf all of us. This also means we are saved and justified by His blood.  Instead of experiencing the wrath from God, Jesus took it for us. Because He died for us, we are saved from God's wrath and now we are at peace.
