Despite previous insistence that it will not be developing a second season for Asian hit drama "Descendants of the Sun," Korean network KBS is said to be now considering the proposal as fans all over the world are clamoring for a return of the show.
According to Movie News Guide, the broadcasting company is said to be in negotiate with Jin Goo and Kim Ji-Won to reprise their roles as Sergeant Major Seo Dae Young and Yoon Myung Joo respectively as leads Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki may not be able to return due to previous commitments in other dramas.
The option to have Jin Goo and Kim Ji-Won return was a compromise made by KBS as the love team's reception of the couple is just as warm as that of the leads.
Fans have also been curious about the possibility of a relationship between Jin and Kim but the rumors have been shot down as Jin is already married and has a child. His nonshowbiz wife is also expecting a baby later this year.
In the first season of the show, Seo Dae Young returned to Korea after Yoon Myung Joo's father, General Yoon, expressed disapproval of the two's budding relationship.
In other news, according to Drama Fever, director Lee Eun Bok has revealed that Song Joong Ki was not his first choice in the role of Captain Yoo Si Jin as he wanted someone more muscular and tougher. He was chosen in the later stages of casting when they realized the importance the personality would make on the character.
"He had just been discharged from his compulsory military service, he was handsome and he loved the script," the director said.
