Since the evening on June 30, strong downpours hit the county of Wuwei and the inland river line exceeded its highest level after decades. Until July 4, the flood has continued with the overflowing of the some dikes in the area, affecting 1.21 million residents and crops covering 990,000 mu.

The whole county spared no effort to fight against the flood.

"Currently, our county is stricken by the biggest flood in its history since 1954 when there was the data recorded. " said the headquarters for flood control of Wuwei County on July 2.

The local pastor Rev. Huang Xingping continues to share up-to-date news about the church in the county. He said that seven churches were heavily flooded with the facilities such as air conditioners all rendered inoperable due to being immersed in flood water, and several churches becoming dangerous buildings as the flood compromised its strength.

The church staff also participated in the disaster relief according to Rev. Huang.

A local church donated the supplies to the disaster area via the church authority and the members of another church raised goods to support the severely afflicted area to conduct self-relief. A local church had also paid a visit to the rescue soldiers.
