Since it was released, the hit Korean drama 'Descendants of the Sun' has been making airwaves thoroughout China. With the hype still growing around China regarding this drama, producers are now working on a film version of the hit series for the Chinese market.
According to reports from KBS World, China's Huace Film and TV has gained the copyrights to create a film version of the drama and it is Director Zhang Yibai who is rumored to direct the film. As far as the main actors are concerned, Yibada reported that both Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo will not be plausible for the movie. However, the production company is working on a very strict and stringent criteria on how they can create the same chemistry and love team as the original stars for the reprisal.
The director has said in his interview with Yonhap News that he is currently feeling the pressure in doing the movie since the drama has done so well with both Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo in the roster. The producers are also slightly cautious on how they will continue because they have to at least match the popularity and drama the original created for its fans.
The story of the hit drama focuses on the story of an army captain and a doctor who was sent to Urk/Uruk which was under war and save the lives of those in it.
