After the success of the indie animated film 'The Nut Job' released in 2014, the incoming sequel to the movie 'The Nut Job 2' will be getting a very diverse cast with Jackie Chan joining the official roster.
On Tuesday, Open Roads Films stated that the Chinese Kung Fu master will be the voice of Mr. Feng, a cute city mice gang leader who knows use Kung Fu against those who enter his territory uninvited.
Director Cal Brunker stated "We're happy to announce the addition of Jackie Chan to the cast of 'The Nut Job 2'. Jackie brings a unique voice to our movie, and it's a real joy to be working with such a talented, award-winning actor and cultural icon."
This isn't the first time Chan has voiced animated characters as he played as himself in his animated series 'Jackie Chan Adventures' in 2002, Li Shang in the Chinese version of the 1998 Disney movie 'Mulan', and Master Monkey in the 'Kung Fu Panda' series.
'The Nut Job 2' is slated to appear in cinemas on May 19, 2017.
