China is set to provide more updated and latest open and efficient international road system four years from now. This is reported to help international transport and also strengthen connection of the country among countries along the Belt and Road.

According to one report, China will lead in advancing the transport infrastructure construction along the Belt and Road. This move is expected to improve customs clearance efficiency and also strengthen more emergency rescue capabilities to aid in international transport, according to a circular jointly released by eight central departments.

"The move is aimed to develop economic corridors with countries along the Belt and Road, reduce cross-border transport costs and improve transport services and efficiency," said Wang Shuiping, a senior official of the Ministry of Transport, during a press conference Tuesday.

To recall, the Belt and Road is an infrastructure proposed by China in 2013. It is a trade network which aims to connect Asia with Africa and Europe along ancient trade routes.
