A video showing a passenger being dragged of a Chicago-Louisville flight of United Airlines has gone viral in China and the citizens aren't happy over it.

A passenger told CNN that the man, who was not yet identified was profiled for being Chinese before he was forcibly removed by the police officers from his seat on an overbooked flight.

The incident was a trending topic on Weibo attracting more than 100 million views on the video. Many have called to boycott United Airlines for discriminating its passengers/

"It's straight up discrimination," one widely shared post said, while another commenter said they would never "fly with United again in his lifetime."

Meanwhile, the CEO of the company Oscar Munoz defends the staff and asked apology not on dragging the Chinese man but over the overbooked flight they issued.

He has also called out the passenger as "disruptive and belligerent" as he defended his staff who he claimed to have followed the established procedures.

The Chicago Department of Aviation said in a statement that the incident was clearly violating the standard operating procedure and the aviation security's actions were not condoned with the rules of the department.
