A rare rainfall hit a town in Jiangsu on August 19, 2018, flooding a village with over 200 families dispatched, according to Rev. Zhang Hean, vice-chairman of the Xuzhou TSPM.

Two days later, Sanli Church decided to provide daily free meals to the affected people in Sanli Village, Longgu Town, Pei County. It created a meal group that made soup, porridge, mantou, and dishes. Since that day, the team has served meals for around 300 or 400 victims every day. In addition, some believers donated food material like lotus roots and eggs to add to the dishes served.

On September 1, 2018, the staff of the Pei County TSPM sent 80 cotton-padded clothes to the locals and visited victims in Sanli Church.

Moved by the kindness of the Church and the believers, many victims said, "The church is very loving, very different from normal people!"
