According to the WeChat account "Law and Religious Study", the 2018 high-level forum on "religion under the rule of law" was held on November 24, 2018, at Zhejiang Gongshang University.

More than 100 experts and scholars attended. Sponsored by the Law and Religious Studies Center and the National Academy of Development and Strategy of Renmin University of China, the forum received more than 80 academic papers.

The conference included specific seminars on five themes covering the topics of "the theory and practice of the sinicization of religion under the rule of law", "the related issues of the implementation of the new regulations on religious affairs", "the governance of the commercialization of religion and the protection of the lawful rights of religious circles", "the history of religion under the rule of law ", and "the spread of religion via the Internet, cults, and legal restrictions on religious extremism".

Over 50 specialists and scholars gave speeches and commentaries. 

Founded in June 2012 and dedicated to studying the governmentality of religion and religion under the law, the Center for Law and Religion has conducted the forum for seven consecutive years.
