Amity Foundation’s relief team arrived in four cities and counties of Shanxi Province to provide disaster relief after the torrential rain hit the province in early October.

On Saturday, the National Commission for Disaster Reduction and the Ministry of Emergency Management jointly activated a Level-IV disaster relief emergency response to the recent floods in China’s northern Shanxi Province. At the same time, the faith-based Amity Foundation opened several online channels to collect donations, according to the foundation.

In addition, arriving in Shanxi as quickly as possible, Amity’s rescue team conducted disaster investigations and participated in the distribution of relief materials in Jiexiu City and Qi County in Jinzhong City, Daning County in Linfen City, and Xiaoyi City in Lvliang City.

A few days ago, Beijing ByteDance Charity Foundation announced a donation of 50 million yuan to help the flood victims in Shanxi by providing emergency supplies and repairing schools and local historical sites after the disaster. On October 11, the foundation once again donated two million yuan to Amity to carry out the flood relief work in Shanxi, purchasing the first batch of 2500 quilts from Hebei Province which were delivered to Songgu Township, Jiexiu City, Jinzhong City.

Furthermore, the second batch of Amity materials were delivered on October 10-11 to Xiaoyi City, Jiaocheng County and Wenshui County of Lvliang City. The supplies included 2,400 barrels of instant noodles, 48 boxes of ham sausage, 170 headlights, 70 cotton coats, 170 pairs of gloves, and 3,200 disposable masks.
