After finding 16,000 yuan in a paper bag when collecting rubbish on Monday, an elderly Christian returned the money to the owner through the police station.

The male believer with the surname of Cai is from Anhui, 64 years old, and now lives by salvaging garbage in Jiaojiang, Taizhou, Zhejiang. Every time he picked up a mobile phone or money, he gave it back to the owner.

"When collecting scraps, sometimes people sold him copper as iron. When he returned home and found it, he went back to make up for the shortfalls, telling the seller that copper is more expensive than iron," said Kong Aiqing, the leader and associate pastor of the Jiaojiang Church.

Cai is a senior believer in the church who has worshipped God there for 17 years. He now attends prayer meetings every morning and participates in the church construction team.

"He can do gas welding and repair electric cars. Also, he rushes to work hard in the church, helping villagers for free," Kong added.
