The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2024 held its sub-forum on “Religious Harmony and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations” on March 29 in Boao City, Hainan Province.

According to China's State Administration for Religious Affairs, the sub-forum featured exchanges on Buddhism around the theme “Flow of Dharma to the East and Thousands of Miles of Fellowship.”

Eight religious representatives from seven countries, including South Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, discussed at a roundtable meeting, including Yan Jue, president of the Buddhist Association of China.

A consensus that the Buddhist teachings of compassion, peace, and the Middle Way, as well as consummate interfusion, are of positive significance in addressing humanity's common challenges was reached among the representatives at the meeting. They urged the international Buddhist community to deepen its interactions and collaboration, as well as promote Buddhist cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations beyond borders.

Since its start in 2015, the Boao Forum for Asia's religious sub-forum has held nine sessions, each focusing on a certain theme and aiming to promote global peace and development via exchanges and collaboration across different religions and civilizations.
