The National Council of YMCAs & YWCAs of China have identified the principle of "strengthening expertise through collaboration, driving development through expertise, and aligning with public sentiment through development" as their advocacy strategy for international exchanges. Building on their existing exchanges, they aim to explore cooperation with other NGOs.

At the meeting of the Foreign Exchange Committee of YMCA-YWCA in China held from December 13 to 15, Dr. Tu Yichao of the committee delivered a keynote address titled "The Role and Positioning of NGOs’ International Exchanges in the New Era," said YMCA-YWCA in China. Dr. Tu emphasized that international non-governmental organizations like YMCA-YWCA in China should support the country’s overall diplomatic strategy by strengthening their international exchanges and further building new platforms for exchanges among NGOs.

Dr. Wu Jianrong, former general secretary of NCY China and Ms. She Hongyu, associate general secretary of the faith-based Amity Foundation shared memorable moments and insights from their international exchange experiences. They discussed how, in the face of unprecedented global changes, the YMCA-YWCA in China could use exchanges of NGOs as a bridge to foster mutual understanding and connectivity among people, demonstrating their social responsibility and global commitment.

Additionally, at the Social Services Committee meeting, the National Council of YMCAs & YWCAs of China was advised to promote brand projects nationwide. The aim is to promote excellent projects, replicate successful projects, and develop them progressively from the initial stages to more advanced levels. This would allow local YMCAs and YWCAs in diverse cities to select and implement projects that align with their unique characteristics to create a strong brand effect.

At the work evaluation meeting, attending general secretaries shared practical insights, proposing ideas such as improving the training systems of YMCA-YWCA in China, exploring innovative promotion methods and channels, and emphasizing the optimization of foreign affairs processes.

Approximately 30 general secretaries from representative YMCAs and YWCAs across varied cities participated in the event.
