On April 16, the faith-based Shanghai Agape Foundation hosted a charity basketball event aimed at providing autistic children with opportunities to interact and connect with ethnic university students, to foster their social skills, enhance confidence, and nurture a spirit of teamwork.

According to Shanghai CC&TSPM, Rev. Xu Yulan, chairperson of Shanghai TSPM, representatives from the Shanghai municipal government, a member of the CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), as well as representatives from co-organizing Shanghai Agape Foundation and Shanghai Cao Peng Charity Foundation, attended the event.

During the event, Rev. Xu Yulan highlighted that this initiative was to raise greater public awareness toward autistic children, empowering them to step boldly into a wider world. She called on all sectors of society to join in supporting the autistic community, creating a more inclusive and caring society.

On the same day, Xiong Wei, chairperson of the Shanghai Agape Foundation, and Tanni Ishiwata, honorary director of the Shanghai Cao Peng Charity Foundation, signed a donation agreement together.

In the basketball training session, professional coaches taught autistic children and university students fundamental basketball moves. In the subsequent competition, mixed teams comprising both groups competed based on participants' age and skill levels. The game followed simplified rules and featured several awards, including the "Best Team Award" and the "Best Player Award."
