An urgent prayer request for the attached church in France is released by Shanghai Community Church, praying for God's mercy on the victim and harmony at that place, Jul 27th.
Prayed the Shanghai Community Church, "May God show His mercy, heal the victims, comfort the panic, save them from the evil. May God grant peace to priest the martyr."
According to BBC, an 84-year-old priest, Jacques Hamel, was killed and four other people taken hostage by two armed men who stormed his church in a suburb of Rouen in northern France, Jul 26th.
Reports say that the two attackers, who said they were from the so-called Islamic State (IS), slit Fr Jacques Hamel's throat during a morning Mass. Police surrounded the church and shot dead both hostage-takers.
