The Bible says a lot of things about obeying parents. Aside from being loyal to God, we need to love and obey our parents too.

These are some of the great words about obeying your parents:

Ephesians 6:1-4

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise), "that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land." Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

According to this verse, it is right to honor and obey our parents and as a reward, we may live long.

Colossians 3:20

"Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord."

If we think that we know what is right but our parents give us advices, then we should follow them. Aside from being obedient, our parents lived longer than us so they know what things to do.

Matthew 15:4

"For God commanded, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.'"

If the reward of obedience  is long life, disobedience to them will cost you your life.
