Qinghai, Jiangxi Churches Shut Down Amid COVID-19 Resurgence

In early August, a Qinghai church and some Jiangxi churches announced the suspension of all in-person gatherings till further notice.

Yushui Church in Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province, said it would cancel Sunday services and Bible study meetings on August 4.

On the next day, Nanchang CC&TSPM in Jiangxi released a notice stating all local churches would shut down, while Xichuan Church in Xining City, Qinghai Province, announced a halt to all onsite services.

According to the National Health Commission, China reported last Thursday 124 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 80 were locally transmitted and 44 were infected while abroad. Among the 44 imported cases were four new asymptomatic carriers located in Shanghai.
