A church in China’s southeastern coastal Zhejiang Province forwarded a letter issued by Zhejiang CC&TSPM on auto-reviewing items displayed in religious venues.
Zhejiang CC&TSPM released an announcement on August 4, demanding the CC&TSPMs in cities with districts to conduct checks on the displays in churches and theological colleges, and then report the results to the provincial CC&TSPM before August 10.
The next day, Jiaojiang Church in Taizhou printed and distributed the announcement, which also said a woman enshrining Japanese war criminals in a Nanjing temple hurt the feelings of Chinese people including Christians and that religious activity sites were required to prevent similar incidents by self-examination and daily management.
