A church in south China’s Guangdong Province celebrated its 42nd anniversary of reopening.
Henan Church in Guangzhou held a retreat and Sunday service during its thanksgiving celebration on February 18-19, reported the church.
Rev. Yang Yongchun, vice chairman and secretary-general of Guangzhou TSPM, was invited to preach a series of sermons with the themes of "We Are Grateful Persons for Receiving Grace" and "The More Grateful We Are, the More Grace We Receive."
The church's four choirs - David Choir, the Women's Choir, the Song of Songs Choir, and the Henan Church Choir - performed during the celebration. After the service, the church presented commemorative gifts to each participant.
Founded in 1935, Henan Church was formerly known as "Hongde Church, Guangdong Synod of the Church of Christ in China" with a history of 87 years. After the implementation of the religious policy in 1978, the church resumed gatherings on February 22, 1981, being later renamed "Guangzhou Henan Church".
