A church in Guangdong organized Christian doctors to carry out rural medical activities, and nearly 200 Yao ethnic people received treatment and free medicines.

Guangzhou Union Church organized medical staff to go to Woshui Town, Liannan Yao Autonomous County, Qingyuan City, to offer free medical consultations on December 16th, according to Guangdong CC&TSPM.

The free medical team carried sphygmomanometers, blood glucose meters, ophthalmic examination equipment, dental tools, and rehabilitation equipment and offered medical diagnosis and consulting services in 15 subjects, including traditional Chinese medicine, internal medicine, surgery, endocrinology, gynecology, pediatrics, and dentistry. Upon the advice of doctors from diverse specialties, they purchased a batch of common drugs valued at above 80,000 yuan and distributed them to the clients. The local government departments borrowed the classrooms and badminton courts of the town center primary school as the venue and transported people in need by midibus.

Since 2006, the church has been arranging for believers working in hospitals in Guangzhou to offer healthcare services to remote ethnic minority areas and villages, which alleviates people’s problems of having difficulty seeing a doctor or finding a doctor in a large hospital.
