To implement the requirements of the 11th National Chinese Christian Congress to train young pastoral workers, the first retirement ceremony for Shangrao church staff was held along with an end-of-the-year meeting.

Pastor Liu Pengzhi delivered a sermon titled "Ten Commandments for the Elderly: Seven Don'ts and Three Dos" at Pingshan Church, Baima Village, Yugan County on January 26, citing Proverbs 20:29, reported Jiangxi CC&TSPM. He advised the elderly not to fear or complain about aging, despise old age, or rely on their seniority. He encouraged them to age wisely and be mature and composed in their senior years. The sermon concluded with blessings for the elderly to be strong and strategic in their old age and follow the example of Caleb.

Pastor Zheng Lanlan preached Psalm 119:25, with the theme "Walking in the Land of the Living." She emphasized that having a pulse and breathing signifies being alive, and she urged believers to consider their present state of mediocrity and follow God's will under the influence of His love.

Elder Wu Pusheng delivered a sermon based on Hebrews 12:1 and Deuteronomy 11:11–12, titled "Running the Journey Ahead." Wu praised the diligent efforts of the elders and acknowledged that it was their hard work that led to the present fruits of the gospel.

After sermons, Elder Ye Shanren announced the list of retired staff workers over 70 years old, presenting them with red scarves and retirement plaques.
