A church in Guangxi held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new venue.
On January 29, Babu Church in Hezhou City conducted the foundation stone-laying ceremony for its new location, reported the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Christian Council (CC).
Rev. Wang Conglian, chairman of the Guangxi Provincial Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), delivered “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord” with congratulations. Over 100 leaders, pastoral staff, and believers from across the province attended the ceremony.
Minister Qin Longzhi, general secretary of the Hezhou Municipal TSPM, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony, during which Rev. Wang made a blessing prayer.
Originally built in 1989 with an area of more than 90 square meters, the Babu Church in Hezhou was identified as a dangerous building in February 2018 due to the impact of the adjacent building's renovation. Therefore, the church has rented a venue in Babu District as a temporary gathering point.
On February 26, 2019, the government granted the land for the new church construction, following years of struggle and prayer. It spans 3,333.2 square meters and has a total building area of 2,813.66 square meters, including 1,495.98 square meters for the main hall, with a budget fund totaling over 11 million yuan.
