To prepare for the upcoming Asian Winter Games, a church in Heilongjiang has undergone an extensive eight-month renovation, unveiling a refreshed and renewed appearance.

On December 22, 2024, the fourth Sunday of Advent, Nangang Church located on Dazhi Street, Nangang District, Harbin City, hosted a thanksgiving worship service to commemorate the 110th anniversary of its founding, said the church.

Senior Pastor Li Meilan of the church, delivered a sermon titled "Counting the Lord's Blessings With Much Gratitude", citing Psalms 103:1-2. In her sermon, she reflected on the 110-year journey of Nangang Church since its establishment in 1914, expressing gratitude for God’s guidance and grace over the years and voicing hope for a brighter future.

After the sermon, the youth fellowship performed an opening dance titled "Christmas Is Amazing," creating a festive atmosphere to the event. Following this, the church’s grand choir led worship with three hymns, with the Samuel fellowship expressing their gratitude and reverence to God through a dance performance.

As one of the iconic landmarks of Harbin, a culturally diverse city rich in history, the newly renovated church showcases the city’s cultural heritage and religious harmony, standing alongside its citizens to welcome the Asian Winter Games which will take place from February 7 to 14.
