As the Chinese New Year is around the corner, churches in southern China conducted holiday visits and charity initiatives.
Recently, the leaders of Taizhou CC&TSPM in Zhejiang Province paid a visit to former members of the municipal CC&TSPM who had retired years ago. According to Taizhou Jiaojiang Church, during the visit, the team inquired about their health and family life while also listening to the retired co-workers share their experiences of the challenges faced during the construction of the Taizhou Christian community and their original motivations for service. Additionally, the team provided them with festive offerings.
The team acknowledged the retired colleagues' dedication to church management and pastoral care, highlighting their guidance and prayers for younger co-workers. This also served as a reminder to the attendees to preserve the faith legacy and remain committed to the original purpose of service.
According to the hosting church, last Tuesday, Yunnan Trinity International Church in Kunming City organized a 2025 Spring Festival charity event to offer holiday care to congregants in need, including those facing illness, loneliness, widowhood, or financial hardship. Rev. Shao Liliang, senior pastor of the church, encouraged everyone by reminding them that despite the challenges in life, God's grace is always sufficient. The event concluded with the distribution of festive monetary support.
According to Hubei Provincial CC&TSPM, last Thursday, St. James Church in Yichang once again held its charity event in the local community, a tradition that has continued for over a decade. During the event, daily necessities were distributed to 120 families in need. For residents with limited mobility, the church pastors personally delivered the festive gifts to their homes.
According to Guangzhou CC&TSPM, from January 11 to 12, churches such as Ci'en Church and Panyu Church in the city organized pastoral staff and key volunteers to visit local communities and needy families within the church. During these visits, they cared about their living conditions and provided them with festive gifts.
