The St. James Church in Yichang, Hubei, hosted a three-day fasting and prayer event from January 23 to 25, 2025.

Church members gathered every morning at six o’clock for prayer and Bible reading, sharing their fasting experiences to encourage one another.

One church member who participated in the event said, “Fasting and praying helped me feel God’s presence more deeply and made me aware of my own faith shortcomings. After this event, I am more determined to follow the path of sinicization. I will pray harder for the church’s development and our country’s growth.”

At the event, pastors kept stressing, “This fasting and praying event isn’t just about our own spiritual exercise. We’re also praying for China’s growth, the church’s growth, and for the sinicization of Christianity. We truly believe that God will do some amazing things in China because of our prayers.”

During the event, church members prayed for their own strength and wisdom so they could make a positive impact on society and their country. They also prayed for China’s social environment, asking God for peace and justice to create a more harmonious atmosphere for the church to thrive.
