Rev. Wu Wei, president of China Christian Council (CCC), commended the unique characteristics of each church in Guangdong Province and expressed hope that their practical experiences could be shared and promoted.

According to CCC&TSPM, Rev. Wu made these remarks during a meeting on March 26 with 12 delegates, including the newly appointed leadership team of Guangdong Provincial CC&TSPM and relevant authorities. He emphasized that Guangdong, as a leading region in China's reform and opening up, has a distinctive church ministry. He encouraged Guangdong churches to "offer practical experiences that can be promoted and serve as a vanguard in advancing the sinicization of Christianity."

Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairperson of the National TSPM, highlighted that the work of CCC&TSPM aligns with the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, which calls for the systematic promotion of the Sinicization of religions in China and the enhancement of the rule of law in religious affairs.

During a discussion with CCC&TSPM, Rev. Guo Yun, chairperson of Guangdong TSPM, and Rev. Cai Bosheng, president of Guangdong CC, reported on the leadership elections of churches in the province, held every five years. They affirmed their commitment to effectively managing the churches, implementing the new five-year plan, enforcing comprehensive governance on religion, and ensuring religious activities comply with the law.

It was noted that Guangdong Province currently has over 800 registered churches and meeting points, approximately 380,000 believers, and 1,356 certified pastoral staff, including 384 pastors and 120 elders. The Guangdong Union Theological Seminary, supported by the provincial CC&TSPM, has enrolled more than 150 students this year and has trained over 1,000 ministers for churches throughout the province.
