China values their food as it is considered one of the mediums they use for art and many have appreciated Chinese cuisines for centuries.

With this in mind, several ways have been established in ensuring that food in China remains safe in China. One of them is the inaguration of the China Food Safety Publicity Week which was started in Gulou District, Nanjing on June 13. The week long event is expected to assist in the campaign of the Chinese government in protecting food in China and help people become confident again with their safety.

One of the participants of the event is Amity Bakery. The enterprise sticks to the principle of food safety and responsibility, currently holding the food production license that supports their creed. This April, the company signed a proposal that promises to support the effort to make Nanjing a city of food safety.

It is also the first domestic bakery run by mentally challenged people which started in 2007, as a subordinate program of Amity Home of Blessings (AHB) founded in 2002 to provide services to mentally challenged young people ranging from 16 to 40 of age and their families in the city.

"We hope to help those who are mentally disabled to integrate into society better and even live through all kinds of professional skill training programs. Currently, the most common among the trainings China provides for these people with mental disadvantages is training of living skills in order to strengthen their self-care ability." Says Zhu Chaoyu, the bakery's founder.
