A 6.2-magnitude earthquake jolted Zaduo County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai with a depth of 9 kilometers on October 17.

Liu He, the co-worker from Xining Thanksgiving Church visited Sahuteng Town located in the county on the third day and told CCD that the houses there were affected slightly and the seriously damaged houses belonged to Tibetans at the remotest locations.

The local authority said that there are more than 1000 households affected with more than 600 damaged at different degrees. Over 60 households' houses have been recognized as "dangerous" and some residents now live in makeshift tents. Currently, the disaster area urgently needs cotton-padded tents and fuels including coals for the incoming winter.

When the earthquake struck, the church staff were sending the cotton clothes to a primary boarding school situated in Laxiu Village, Yushu. Currently, the church is planning as to how they can help the victims in Zaduo County.
