The Christian Church of Baoji City, Shaanxi Province held its dedication ceremony on Febuary 27, 2017.
Wang Binghui, chairman of the CCC&TSPM of Baoji, delivered the message entitled "The nature and characteristics of the church." He cited the verse from 1 Timothy 3:15 and reminded the congregation that the church is God's temple, His home, Body of Christ, Bride of Christ, and the golden lampstand.
He Li, the elder in charge of the church, reviewed the history of the church, which included three renovation periods throughout its history.
The said church was first established as Shijiaya Church in 1987, and the villagers took turns hosting and preaching the Gospel. The original church building has a chapel of 170 square meters which is made of earth and wood and a one story house of 57 square meters with three rooms which was built in 1997. In order to solve the problem of insufficient accommodations during services, the church built a two-story multi-use building of 180 square meters with housing, a dining hall, and offices in 2009. However, the old building was in a poor state and could no longer meet the needs of the church, it was torn down and replaced. A new church of 420 square meters was built over six months starting in 2016 with 850,000 CNY in donations for the project. It includes a two-story kitchen of brick and concrete construction in the back courtyard to meet the needs of serving more than 500 people.
