Shenglilu Church, the first church founded in Baoji, Shaanxi after the Cultural Revolution, announced last Sunday that the subsequent project of its new church was resumed on Oct. 18 after eight year's shutdown in its rented facility.

Moreover, Brother Dong, the church leader, expected the cross to be put on the top of the new church this Christmas and a dedication ceremony on April 18, 2018.

Built in 1984, the church has a regular attendance of about 500. The congregation reached 2,238 at its peak, but the figure dropped to less than 100 in recent years when the church severed into two factions due to the new construction. It walked through the toughest journey then the two groups reconciled and worshiped together.

After the last Sunday service, a local hospital offered a free clinic at the temporary facility to over 200 people. Wei Ping, a retired doctor who often saw patients on a volunteer basis, said that the reason why she organized the clinic was that few of the many elderly believers had an annual check-up in the hospital, so their ailments got worse. After the clinic, the elderly believers in need of further examination would be chauffeured in batches to the hospital from Oct. 23 to 27, 2017.
