Katy Perry and her boyfriend Orlando Bloom had an encounter with Pop Francis last weekend, during their quick visit at the Vatican after they joined the annual United to Cure conference.
In an Instagram post, Perry shared a photo of her touching Pope Francis' hand as he welcomed them in the Vatican. The singer said she was honored to be in the presence of His Holiness.
Moreover, last Saturday of April 28, Perry shared an Instagram story telling her fans that she is in Rome to speak at the conference. People reported that aside from her boyfriend, the pop star's mother, Mary Hudson also came to the Vatican.
Perry wore a black dress and a veil when she met the pontiff. According to media, the outfit is a known traditional Vatican protocol for meeting the pope. The singer also exchanged pleasantries and met Bishop Paul Tighe, the Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Culture.
Meanwhile, Pope Francis also spoke at the same conference in front of 500 participants where he emphasized the urgency of healthcare.
