On June 4, 2018, three days after International Children's Day, Li Meilan, senior pastor of Harbin Nangang Church, led over ten church workers to visit more than 200 children with cerebral palsy in a local rehabilitation center. The team gave holiday greetings and gifts to them.

In May 2015, more than 30 young workers from the church paid a visit to children in a rehabilitation hospital and a social welfare home.

Built in 1916, the Gothic-style church was originally named "Luther Church" with an area of 2,360 square meters (0.58 acres)  and a construction area of 227 square meters (0.05 acres).

In 1996, a church expansion project was started. A new annex was constructed and the new church can hold over 2,000 people.

The church now has a congregation of 3,000 members, nine parishes, 31 fellowships, and has founded four other churches.
