On September 11, 2018, Huangjiajie Church in Jining, Shandong, held the opening ceremony of a Bible literacy class that was first initiated 26 years ago.
The ceremony was presided over by Rev. Chen Quanying while Teacher Liu Maohua, head of the class, made a prayer. Rev. Tang Li, a member of the standing committee of the Jining CCC&TSPM and also in charge of the ministries in Huangjiajie Church, distributed the Bible to the participants with the help of some students. She appreciated the learning spirit of many students included in the class, many were past 60 and 70 years old, and encouraged them to study hard and help each other in Christ.
Since it started, the class has helped over 2,000 elderly people learn how to write, read the Bible, copy the book, and write to their children by themselves to varying degrees.
