The traditional Chinese festival, also called Chongyang Festival or Senior's Day, falls on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month. In Chinese culture, "nine" equals the number of yang, making the day of the festival one of two yang numbers, while "chong" in Chinese refers to double. So that's how the name of the festival, Chongyang, came to be.
