On April 28, 2019, the Inner Mongolia Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement held an ordination ceremony for 32 pastoral workers in the province's eastern Tongliao region.
They were ordained as pastors and elders, whose average age is 46, according to the church in Horqin District.
All of them have received formal theological education and are graduates of domestic theological seminaries or Bible schools. After the ceremony, Rev. Xie Baohua, president and chairman of the Inner Mongolia CCC & TSPM, presided over the communion and commissioning service. One hundred and forty church workers gathered together to worship the Lord.
This ordination and worship service marked the largest number of clergy to be ordained in the century-old history of Christianity in Tongliao. More than 1,000 believers of the church in Horqin District also witnessed this historical moment.
