During the May Day holiday, Shashi Church and Jingzhou Church of Hubei jointly held a two-day retreat.
Starting from May 3, Rev. Gong Gangchun, president and chairman of the Xian'ning Christian Council and Three-Self Patriotic Movement gave sermons from Chapters 4 and 5:1-19 of 2 Kings with the theme, "See God's Grace through Sufferings", according to Jingzhou Shashi Church. Telling the stories of the widow's oil, her son restored to life, and Naaman healed of leprosy, he exhorted the congregation to rely upon God to be his witnesses because the omniscient and omnipotent God knew our needs and made the way for us in our difficulties. The congregation was very blessed.
The church also provided free lunches for the participants during the event.
